presentations.
The
first
presentation
will
commence
promptly
at
1745
hours
and
the
main
presentation

commence

dinner.
Presentation
#1:
PSISA-Training
and
Testing
Update-The
first
presentation
will
provide
a
comprehensive
overview
of
the
recently
released
training
curricula
for
Security
Guards
and
Private
Investigators
and
will
include
topics
such
as;
the
curricula,
instructor
registration/ testing
timelines,
the
examination
and the issues involving
the
delay
in
the
delivery
of specialized
training
for
handcuff
and
batons.
Our
presenter
will
be
Mr.
Brian
Robertson
of Diligent
Security
Training
and
Consulting.
Main
Presentation
#2:
The
Security
Guard
and
the
Occupational
Health
and
Safety
Act-This
presentation
will
focus
on
the
Ontario
Occupational
Health
and
Safety
Act
and
how
it
relates
and
applies
to
the
role
of
Security
Guard
and
includes
such
topics
as:
critical
injuries,
refusal
of
work,
the
role
of
the
Joint
Health
and
Safety
Committee,
the
involvement
of
security
in
Joint
Health
and
Safety
Committees,
workplace
inspections
and
how
a
certified
representative
may
assist
security
in
their
role
when
reporting
safety
violations. Our
presenter
will
be
Mr.
Bill
Urie,
CET,
CHSP,
Consultant,
Education
Safety
Association
of
Ontario.

Security-What You Should Know”

AFI International Group Inc.
Peter has been overseeing AFI expansion
operations in the United States and will
provide an analysis of the emerging
security threats soon to be seen in
Canada.

The BC Security
Services Act received Royal Assent
May 31, 2007 and will replace the
Private Investigators and Security
Agencies Act. It is expected
to be brought into force through
regulation commencing in late

We invite you to attend the next South Central Ontario Chapter meeting and presentation taking place on May 14.
Our presenter will be Ms. Susan Clarke from the Office of the Fire Marshall. She will be speaking about the recent changes to the Ontario Fire Code that came into force on November 21, 2007. The presentation will include explanations on the objective-based-format and many of the technical changes that have been made to the Code. This presentation will be of special interest to those who have to relate with/or manage fire technicians, workplace fire plans and occupancy loads.
